Legacy

Trivia
- Real name: Hiromi Mochizuki.
- Born in what is now North Korea during WWII, later raised in Yamanashi Prefecture.
- Graduated from Waseda University and completed a master's program at its Graduate School of Letters.
- Finalist for the 'Shosetsu Junior' newcomer award in 1975 and 1977 (1975 entry was published in the magazine though not awarded).
- Worked as a high-school teacher while writing, and founded the theatre company 'COMEDY OF YESTERDAY' after coaching a school drama club.
- Won the Oda Sakunosuke Prize in 1999 for 'Shukusai', the Farmer's Literature Prize in 2006, and the Workers' Literature Prize in 2007.
