Description
An open literary award established in 2005 by the NPO Japan Shikaku Association (Tokyo), recognizing outstanding works of poetry, tanka, haiku, essays, and criticism. From the 11th edition (2015) onward, the award was renamed to formally include essay and criticism categories. The grand prize carries a cash award of 50,000 yen. Submissions are typically accepted from spring through the end of June, with results announced between July and September.
