High tension, perfect thrills.

The seventh outing of Kinsey MIllhone sees Kinsey's life take a turn for the worst, but the quality pacing and story telling does not let up. Kinsey is called to find an old lady who has dissipated from California's infamous Slab City, a collection of hippies and nomads in the middle of nowhere. Just as she's about to set off on her mission, she gets the news that a dangerous gang member she helped but behind bars has called a hit on her. What follows is a direct attack on Kinsey, leaving her injured and her car nearly destroyed. Needing protection, Kinsey calls in Robert Dietz, detective on his way out of the game. With him in toe, Kinsey not only finds herself caught up in a job spirally out of control, but ends up coming head to head with a psychopath who will stop at nothing to kill her. As usual, Grafton's writing is on point. The plots are weaved together perfectly, and the tension is high. The conclusion is wonderfully written, and will have you on the edge of your seat. "G is for Gumshoe" is the best book yet in the Alphabet series. Certainly recomended.
