June Hur, critically acclaimed author of The Silence of Bones and The Forest of Stolen Girls , returns with The Red Palace— a third evocative, atmospheric historical mystery perfect for fans of Courtney Summers and Kerri Maniscalco. To enter the palace means to walk a path stained in blood... Joseon (Korea), 1758. There are few options available to illegitimate daughters in the capital city, but through hard work and study, eighteen-year-old Hyeon has earned a position as a palace nurse. All she wants is to keep her head down, do a good job, and perhaps finally win her estranged father's approval. But Hyeon is suddenly thrust into the dark and dangerous world of court politics when someone murders four women in a single night, and the prime suspect is Hyeon's closest friend and mentor. Determined to prove her beloved teacher's innocence, Hyeon launches her own secret investigation. In her hunt for the truth, she encounters Eojin, a young police inspector also searching for the killer. When evidence begins to point to the Crown Prince himself as the murderer, Hyeon and Eojin must work together to search the darkest corners of the palace to uncover the deadly secrets behind the bloodshed. Amazing book, intriguing plot
Bring a lover of historical k-dramas, this book had intruiged me after ordering Hur’s earlier book “Forest of Stolen Girls”. The plot for this - based on Crown Prince Sado, was amazing. I’ve just ordered “The Memoirs of Lady Hyegyeong” because of the references made from “The Red Palace”. Looking forward to the next book from Hur🥰

Who done it?
A fantastic read from June Hur, it’s nice having a story that has scary and serious stuff but not described in detail(she allows the reader to use their imagination). Reads like a who done it Korean drama and really good!

Obsessed with June Hur
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Eighteen-year-old Hyeon is a palace nurse who investigates a pattern of grisly murders in this romantic YA historical mystery from the author of The Silence of Bones. I have loved every single June Hur novel so far and this one is no exception. If anything this has been my favourite so far. The romance between the two main character is 😘 chefs kiss amazing. My favourite quote of the whole book ... which was both easy to choose and hard to decide because of how many amazing different quotes. "But never fear. Next time it will be my turn.' "Your turn?" "To watch out for you." "Is that a promise?" I blinked and hesitated for a moment. "It is." These two literally had me kicking my feet. Just like a Korean drama the slow building romance is one of the best. And that's just the romance aspect which is a very small part of the overarching storyline. The real main plot is the four grizzling murders of nurses and palace ladies. We are shown intrigue, drama and murder all wrapped into the world of Korea 1758 palace life. Like the other palace nurses said ... To enter the palace means to walk a path stained in blood, our medical teachers had whispered. There will be bloodshed. I only hope it will not be yours.” There's so many aspects and story lines that I haven't even mentioned in this review that just bring this story to the next level. Seriously do yourself a favour and read this book. In fact read every June Hur story right now
