大正3年、東京生まれ。昭和9年、「愛吟」に入会。昭和36年、「秋」創刊に参加。昭和40年、第1句集『黄瀬』により第12回現代俳句協会賞を受賞。平成19年、句集『青愛鷹』で第7回俳句四季大賞を受賞。現在「秋」名誉主宰。
