写真師やカメラの歴史と時代背景がよく分かりました。また、興味深い当時の写真が掲載されているのも良いです。

電子版は買うだけムダ
電子版では肝心の写真が全て省略されています。魅力半減、騙されました。詐欺も同然。

写真の力
工藤さんの著書はほとんど眼を通しているが、この本によって初めて著者の想いの背景を知ることができて大変興味深かった。写真の数々もなかなか今や珍しいものが多く、本書を読めたのは貴重な経験となった。最近はデジカメやスマホで簡単に写真を撮ったりインターネットで共有できるが、このように「残る」写真はそれほど多くないかも知れないとも感じた。

下町の写真館を営む一家の歴史について、明治から昭和にかけてが綴られている。移り行く時代におかれた一家の悦びや悲哀、読み終えて胸に熱いものがこみ上げる。関東大震災や戦中の苦も筆致されているが、切実にも前向きに生きた一家の姿を思えば、現代がかかえる震災などの社会不安に立ち向かえる勇気すら覚えた。 総じて「写真師」の存在について知る機会を与えてくれる作品。特に写真が好きな方々が読めば、写真の在り方について考える事が出来る。 この書籍に出会えて良かったと思う。
