偉大な女性戯曲家の作品集
1911年東京生まれの作者秋元松代は、 小劇場運動が起こる前に活躍した女性戯曲家の名を挙げろ、 と言われて唯一挙がる名前ではないだろうか。 それだけ大きな存在である。 既に故人ではあるが、『七人みさき』や、何より『近松心中物語』 は現在でも再演されることが多い。 本書に収められた二篇は、強い土着性の衣をまといながら 最終的に扱う題材は戦争や公害といった現代の問題であり その多重性、射程の長さが極めて刺激的な作品である。
