精緻な筆致にユーモアのスパイスを入れた短編集
「サッちゃん」、「おなかのへるうた」の詩人で芥川賞作家の著者による短編は、優しさに満ちながらも生の機微を突いた作品たち。詩のみならず、このような短編等を含む、この著者の全集が読みたいと思わせる一冊。

ちょっと暗いか
同人誌処女作「平城山」、文藝誌処女作「音楽入門」「日本の童謡」など「土の器」以外の短篇に、遺作となった連作詩「鬱の髄から天井のぞく」が入っている。「日本の童謡」の耳鳴黎吉のモデルは佐藤義美らしい。大中寅二など親戚の最期を描くことが多いので暗い印象がある。モデル不明の「冬の櫛」が、幽霊が出てくるけれどもまあ佳編だった。
