日常的情景に幻想詩を見出す連作短編集
子どものころの思い出を小説化した連作短編集ということで、どの話も特別な事件が起こるわけでもなく、せいぜいありふれた日常にちょっとさざ波をたてる些細なできごとを書き留めた、という感じである。しかし、ストーリーがどうのこうのと言うよりもまず、子どもの視点から見られた情景が鮮明に思い浮かぶ文章に魅せられた。それほど読みやすいというわけではないのだが、非常にヴィジュアルな感じが実に魅力的だ。 この巧みな文章によるところが大きいのではないかと思うのだが、日常些事のはずが、ほとんど幻想的な味わいさえ感じられるのである。散文詩に近いような印象も受ける珠玉の短編集。
