忘れられてほしくない日本発冒険小説の佳作
読者賞ということで、読んで純粋に面白いと認められたわけですね。私も楽しめました。 幕開けは由来不明の金塊の発見、ほんの事務仕事と割り切ってその由来の調査を始めた若い造幣局調査官が、次第にその謎にのめりこんでいく過程が重厚に描かれます。そして調査は日本を飛び出しユーラシア大陸へ。ここから命をも狙われるスリリングな追跡劇になり、相棒となったイタリア娘との二人三脚で決死のソ連侵入。その脱出劇もまたハラハラドキドキです。 さすがに処女作ということで、ストーリーがだんだんテンポを速めるのはいいのですが、ソ連侵入のところはもう粗筋を追っているだけのようにあわただしく駆け抜けてしまっているのが残念。本来ここが力の入れどころと思うのですけど。 ・・・と欠点もありますが、日本発の冒険小説として忘れられてほしくない1作です。
