世界が見える
盲目の子供たちが感じる世界を率直に詩にした絵本。 私が初めてこの本を手にしたのは小学校１年生のときで、なぜだかとてもお気に入りでした。 当時は深く意味を理解することはできませんでしたが、素直に詩を受け入れられたような気がします。 あれから２０年も経ち、今になって思い出して購入しましたが、本当に素敵です。 「星を見たことがないけれど、なんだか猫の鳴き声のような気がする。」 小さく輝く星がありありと見えてきそうです。 いつまでも心にこういう感性を持っていたい。そう思える絵本です。

目が見えなくとも、そのほかの感覚で物を感じることができるのです。 運動場に雨が降ると、土のにおいがする。 星はネコのなき声みたいな気がする。 子どもには少しピンとこなかったみたいですが、 その表現力は是非伝えたいと思いました。 やはり声に出して素敵な言葉の響きを味わってほしいです。
