所属する「玉川上水に親しむ会」に松浦氏が参加され、肉声によるお話を伺う事が出来た。 明快でありながら、深い造詣と史料の多さ、深さに感銘を受けた。 「上水記」新本は既に絶版、中古を買い求め、読ませて戴いた。 ○○苑子さんのようなぶっつけ小説ではなく、過分とも思える下調べと深い情念による伊奈半十郎上水記、 興味深く、面白く読ませて戴きました。 7月には、我々の会で講演をお願いできるはず。 （事前情報としても、必須と思い熟読しました。）

人はどこまでのことを出来るのか
主人公となる伊奈半十郎忠治や伊奈半左衛門忠尊などは、歴史に詳しい人でないと知らないと思う。 自分も無知ゆえに、もちろん知らなかった。 しかし面白い。グイグイと迫ってくる力強さがある。 関東郡代として、代々に渡って治水事業に携わる伊奈家。 河川の氾濫によって、被害に苦しむ村人たちと共に苦闘しながら、自然の脅威に敢然と立ち向かい続ける。 その姿自体に、人がどこまでのことを出来るのか、挑む姿勢に惹かれていく。 資料の散逸によって評価されることなく忘れられそうになっている伊奈家に、何とか光を当てようとする作者の熱意と相まって、非常に印象的な一書になっている。
