水軍武将*九鬼嘉隆を余すことなく描かれている叙情詩です。 欲を申しますと、本家筋の澄隆を何故討ったか！ その理由と経緯が詳しく描かれていたらと思います。 しかし、その史料がなく描きようがなかったのかもしれません。

強い意志の持ち主 織田水軍の将
読み始めは 九鬼嘉隆については、なんて人！ と、しばらくは読むのを躊躇われたぐらいだったが、思い直して、改めて読むうちに、だんだんと嘉隆の生き様が強い精神力と、信念を持って様々な困難に立ち向かって進んできた、努力の人という印象でした。 戦国時代ならではの、辛い立場に敢えて身を挺して織田水軍としての志を常に自覚して行動する姿。 最期は感動しました。

信長水軍の将・九鬼嘉隆の生涯を描いた作品。 激しい気性と個性が災いし志摩を追われた嘉隆は、同じように激しい気性を持つ信長と出会い、その下で頭角をあらわしていく・・・。 激しい気性を持つ嘉隆が、信長に自らを重ね合わせ、自らも日本一の水軍の将といわれるまでに上って行く様子と、その目標を失っての迷走。そして、日本一の水軍の将という重荷。そういうものが見事に描かれている。その最期は、まさにその人生を象徴しているように思える。 戦国時代に名をなした武将たちの中では、比較的地味な部類に入る九鬼嘉隆だが、その人生が実にドラマティックに描かれている。
