「20年もの」の結晶世界
扉を開けば吃水線と、平底船の如き筐体とが現れ、そこから溢れでる文字が滲んでいるような装本である。1987年から2008年までの詩作24篇からなる散文詩集。「現代思潮」に掲載された17篇を中心に構成されている。猥りがわしい都市に棲息して、雷同し浮遊しているのか、孤立し沈潜しているのか。長きにわたる想いは、吃水を深くしただろうか、身軽にしてくれただろうか。旧仮名遣い・改行句点空白なし・読点踊り字多用で彫琢された文字塊である。新語と踊り字と旧仮名とが犇めき、ねちこい文体のなかで蠢いている。24枚の紙片をシャッフルすれば、エーテル空間に時間の結晶が析出するかもしれない。1988年作の10篇「吃水都市1～10」だけで編めば、拡がりに欠けるとしても濃いものになっただろう。作者は短篇小説「鬱々と」（『もののたはむれ』所収）で、「何ものにも支えられずに宙に浮かんでいるような美しいもの作りたい」と＜わたし＞に言わしめている。続けて「これこそ救いようもなくあさましい」とも。
