『いま二センチ』は、『春の顕微鏡』に続く第五歌集である。二〇一二年から二〇一五年末までの四年間、三十六歳から四十歳の四八八首を収めた。二〇一三年の年明けに妊娠が分かり、八月の終わりに娘を出産した。待っていた子どもが生まれたことは、やはりとても嬉しく大きなことであった。本歌集は、ちょうどその変化の前後の時期にあたる。(本書「あとがき」より)
