奇跡の花の物語
『輝石の花』です。13歳くらいの元気な男の子と女の子が冒険するボーイ・ミーツガール……っぽい話ですが、二人は最初から幼馴染み同士で、ミーツではないですね。 作者あとがきにあるように、ファンタジーでスキーと音楽と宝石の話です。 また、巻末解説にもあるように、大がかりな仕掛けや特殊設定があるのではありませんが、子供二人の絆の熱さがストレートに読者に響く、読後感の爽やかな作品です。 問題点を言うとすれば、シリアスな話なのですが、登場人物の会話がみょぉうに軽いノリであること。異世界ファンタジーなのに「ストップ」「ラストスパート」などといった安易な英語が、それも会話の中で使用されていること。カタカナの擬音を安直に多用していること、でしょうか。 その反面、比喩は巧いと思いました。なかなか思い浮かばないような直喩が所々見られて、描写に独特な深みを持たせていました。 次回作が楽しみな作家です。
