Hanafubuki no Gotoku is a novel by Yuhi Takezaki that portrays questions of religion and war through the figure of a boy in wartime Japan. It was published by Fukuinkan Shoten in 1980 as part of the Fukuinkan Nichiyobi Bunko series, with illustrations by Eizo Hirayama. Set in a time when fighting had continued since the Manchurian Incident, it follows what a boy believes and questions amid school discipline and the pressure of his surroundings.

対米戦直前の懸命に生きる中学生
40年以上前、私が中学生の時に読んだ本です。 困難な軍国主義の時代に少数派であるクリスチャンである主人公大島君や友人の井田君、根津君達が悩みながらも懸命に思想を交わし、生きていくストーリーです。 井田君と女学生の佐野さんとの恋物語もあります。 真面目な本なのですが、ユーモアもあり楽しく読みました。 40年ぶりに旧友の再会した気分です。
