秋の顔―石田郷子句集 (21世紀俳人シリーズ 木語叢書)
Ishida Satoko's first haiku collection. It observes everyday scenes and the changing seasons, rendering the loneliness and sadness beneath their brightness in supple language.
Work Information
A first collection that quietly layers the loneliness of being alone and feelings directed toward others onto everyday scenes.
Aki no Kao is Ishida Satoko's first haiku collection, published in 1996. Through familiar seasonal images such as birds, nuts, stars, and snow, it lightly captures the loneliness of existing as an individual and the impulse to reach toward others. It was later collected with her second volume, Ki no Namae, in Ishida Satoko Sakuhinshu I.
Review Summaries
-
The collection is read not only for its bright, fresh surface but also for the loneliness and sadness that are difficult to put into words. Its seasonal images bring out both the distance between individuals and a desire for connection.
