こういうのはちょっと苦手かな
読んでみてまず連想したのがミュージカルの「キャッツ」。 ストーリーのつながりがあるわけでもなく、個々の登場「生物」が章ごとに独自の物語を展開している感じ。 こういう宮沢賢治風のファンタジーが好きな人には和みのある作品かもしれないが、私のように全体のストーリーの構成が気になる者には満たされない後味が残ってしまう。

生のつながり
面白い作品だ。構成はかなり独自だが、奇抜ながらも読みやすい文章のおかげでしっくり入ってくる。 「螺法四千年記」という古文書をめぐり、様々な個性的な生き物たちが登場する。 それは白蜥蜴であったり、弁財天であったり、餅を届ける兎であったり、岩走る蛸の乙女であったりする。 ゆったりとした笑いの連続の中に、それぞれのささやかな生がいつもどこかで誰かや何かと小さくつながっていることを感じさせてくれる。深く、しみじみとした読後感が残る。こんな小説、作家は他にいないと思う。 野間文芸新人賞受賞も納得の力作だ。

滲んでいく
「螺法四千年記」（日和聡子）を読んだ。こういうの好きだなあ。いろいろな物事の境界線が曖昧に滲んでいくような感じがたまらない。眼差しが優しく暖かい。私はアルコールダメだけど、おそらく美酒に酔うとはこのことか。
