1907年、福井県に生まれ、1965年、千葉県に没する。小説家、詩人。 本名、高間芳雄。 高校時代にダダイズムの影響を受け、東京帝国大学文学部時代にはプロレタリア文学運動に加わる。 1935年、『故旧忘れ得べき』で第1回芥川賞候補。1941年、陸軍報道班員としてビルマに徴用。戦後も、小説、エッセイ、詩とジャンルを問わず活躍した。 主な作品に、『如何なる星の下に』(人民社、1936)、『昭和文学盛衰史』(文藝春秋新社、1958)、『激流』(第一部、岩波書店、1963)をはじめ多数。 ほかに『高見順日記』(正続17巻)、『高見順全集』(全20巻)がある。

残念な本文フォントとインク色
内容にはなんの問題もありませんが，判型が大きな割りに字が小さく，フォントがか細く，文字色が薄いので，高齢者には非常に読みにくいと思います。 中央公論社「日本の文学」のほうが，活版印刷のためか文字がくっきりして読みよいです。 せっかくの再刊なのに非常に惜しいです。装丁や工夫した見出しの文字など誉めるべきところはたくさんありますが，肝心の本文がいただけません。
