Winner of the 2nd Sogen Mystery Short Story Award. Originally published in the literary magazine 'Kamitsuki no Techo vol.19' (October 2024, Tokyo Sogensha), later released as a standalone e-book. Author Sainai Sato was born in 1993 in Kyoto Prefecture and currently resides in Osaka as a company employee, a graduate of Ryukoku University. Selection committee members were Okura Takahiro, Kitamura Kaoru, and Tsujido Yume.

ままならない現実を精一杯生きる、子供達のミステリ
北村薫先生の「名作」という選評に興味を引かれて読みました。コロナ禍、家族の介護など、中学生の子供達にとっては厳しい現実の中で起きた、ある事件の真相には胸が痛みました。 だけど、謎が解かれることで、前に進めたことや希望も描かれていると思います。現代を切り取った、良い物語を読めて良かったです。
