San Francisco P.D. Homicide Inspector Kate Gillespie's investigation into a bizarre apparent murder/suicide is threatening to careen out of control. A dead man might not be dead. The families of the deceased are hiding something. And there are blood-soaked threads reaching into some very lofty places. But most perplexing of all are the shocking revelations of one of the "victims" dark and dangerous history -- the more Kate learns, the less she knows. It's a case that has placed Kate Gillespie on the hot seat as her investigation gets bigger by the moment -- and puts her perilously high on a rabid killer's hit list.

Robin Burcell is an FBI-trained forensic artist who has worked in law enforcement for over two decades as a police officer, detective, and hostage negotiator. A two-time Anthony Award winner, she is the author of four Sydney Fitzpatrick novels— The Black List , The Dark Hour , The Bone Chamber , and Face of a Killer—as well as four novels featuring SFPD homicide detective Kate Gillespie: Every Move She Makes , Fatal Truth , Deadly Legacy , and Cold Case .

レビュー

  • Deadly Legacy by Robin Burcell

Robin Burcell excells in the multiple mystery book. Every book has several story lines that eventually weave together to make one grand denoument. In this book San Francisco's first female Homicide detective, Kate, has a new partner, Rocky. Her last partner has retired and has become a P.I. The story starts much like the first one in this series, a body in a car--only this time it is two bodies. No I.D.s included. The first chapters are concerned with whether this is a suicide / murder, or a double murder, and finding out who the male victim is. Kate knows the woman--she'd been betrayed by her in college. In searching the woman's home in hopes of finding out who the man with her is, Kate impulsively steals a piece of evidence that threatens her own family, effectively putting her whole hard won career in jeapardy and getting herself kicked from the case. Next her partner gets blown up and ends up in the hospital. She goes to the famed Black and White Ball, only to end up chasing a suspect, her evening gown hiked to her hips as she runs, and getting that picture plastered in the papers and on TV. She keeps promising her captain and her IA love interest, Mike, to stay out of the case, and keeps getting pulled back into it. The complications are the intrusions of the FBI into this non FBI case, a kidnapping, the disappearance of a couple witnesses, and a run to the Napa Valley that results in an attempt on her life and Mike's ending up in the hospital with a bullet wound in the chest. As usual, the culprit in all these crimes and problems turns out to be a complete surprise, while all the clues are right there in the chapters before the denoument. If you love complicated stories of mystery, mayham and intrigue with a couple on again, off again love stories included, Robin Burcell is your author and this is one of her best books.

  • San Francisco detectives at their finest on and off the job 😉

I loved the 3 book series. I couldn't put it down.

  • Really good series.

Really good series. I like books that continue with characters and story lines. Entertaining and a good read. But not graphic or violent.

  • Not actually signed by author!

Book is awesome, which is a 5star! Seller should not promote a book as signed by the author if it’s not actually signed. Who I rate as a 3star!

  • Five Stars

I've read all her books too
