- Real name: Norio Miyashita (宮下教雄).
- After graduating from Ritsumeikan University's Faculty of Letters (Department of Philosophy), he worked as a culture reporter for the Kansai Shimbun and later as a screenwriter and novelist.
- In 1987 he won both the Suntory Mystery Grand Prize and the Readers' Award for 'Dotanba de Harry Lime'.
- In 2013 he received the Funahashi Seiichi Literary Prize for 'NAGASAKI: Dream Kingdom'.
