Mystery

Set in Fukuoka, the protagonist (a lawyer, narrated in first person) clashes with the judiciary and prosecution over the handling of a mother-and-child murder trial and is disciplined. After returning to practice, a man who lost his wife and child in the case appears, and the protagonist takes on the case again to pursue its troubling inconsistencies.
