Legacy
Kinokuniya Hall, opened in 1964 in Shinjuku, Tokyo, is known as a sacred place for small theater drama. It has provided an important stage for young theater artists and received the Kikuchi Kan Prize in 2003 for its contributions to the development of theater and rakugo. In 2017, it was designated as a Tokyo Metropolitan historical building and recognized for its value as modernist architecture.
