A study based on documents and testimonies on the careers of Tetteki Togi and Shunsho Dohi, notable figures in modern Japanese theatre.
A semi-autobiographical memoir based on his experiences, recalling his activities with Bungakuza, his career as an actor, and wartime and postwar experiences.
He was celebrated as a distinguished character actor active in film, television and theatre, and was also recognized for his research and writings on modern Japanese theatre. His records of Bungakuza and other company activities have been valuable to subsequent theatre studies.
At first I was puzzled because the role involves cooking and such, but it's an unconventional home drama so it's enjoyable.
