Trivia
- In 2011 he wrote in Shincho 45 criticizing Osaka Governor Toru Hashimoto with diagnostically framed language; legal action followed but appeals courts ultimately ruled for the publisher.
- A lecture booklet published by a sect of Jodo Shinshu recorded him using the term '土人', which triggered criticism and resulted in an apology document from related religious authorities.
