A young boy who loves twintails, Souji Mitsuka, is given a Tail Gear by the otherworldly girl Tuarl and transforms into Tail Red to fight the invading Elementarian organization Altimergil that harvests 'attribute power' tied to fetishes such as twintails. The story mixes transformation, identity, friendship and action in a high-energy light novel comedy.
Since its 2012 debut the light novel "Ore, Twintail ni Narimasu." was published in 22 volumes by Gagaga Bunko and spawned anime, manga and audiobook adaptations. Its unusual premise and comedic tone drew attention and secured a dedicated fanbase within the light novel community.
My immediate impression after finishing it was, 'They should publish this as is. Or even better, adapt it into an anime next week.' I laughed out loud — it had been a long time since a novel made me do that.
