Kanako Yoshida, as a poet, translator and scholar of French literature, demonstrated a restrained linguistic expression in contemporary Japanese poetry. As Professor Emeritus at Gakushuin University she contributed to education and the introduction of French literature through translations; her poetry and translation work are well regarded.
