Description

Established in 1983 by Mainichi Newspapers, with co-sponsorship from Ito-Yokado and cooperation from Tokyu Tourist. Solicits small handmade fairy tales (within 10 sheets of 400-character manuscript paper), targeting unpublished original works, awarding Grand Prize, Selector's Prize, Honorable Mention, and Encouragement Prize. Grand Prize includes 1 million yen prize money and a Europe trip for two provided by Tokyu Tourist; Selector's Prize includes 100,000 yen prize money and domestic/international travel vouchers; Honorable Mention and Encouragement Prize include gift certificates provided by Ito-Yokado. Open to all genders starting from 2003. Ended with the 23rd edition in 2006.
