This article examines the late career of the poet-monk Shōtetsu and the Chōgetsuan poetry circle through the manuscript Chōgetsuan Eika / Shijūniban Utaawase held by Tenri Central Library. By comparing records including Sōkonshū, it shows that the monthly poetry contest at Ontokuin was organized chiefly by poets of the Chōgetsuan circle.
