Nami Nishizawa, who handles corporate crises, infiltrates a citizens' group to calm protests against a pharmaceutical company. There she is introduced to a fellow activist, Yukie Himeno, the woman with whom she grew up in an orphanage and later became lovers. Nami confronts the mystery of the material being used to attack the company and Yukie's disappearance.
