Gon Saburō the legendary tanuki and a mysterious woman named Akari arrive in Yakihara, where a third-year middle-school student, Hajime, lives. Told that the town will be destroyed and its people swallowed whole in one month, Hajime and her friends begin a relaxed effort to stop the plan.
