The Japan Tanka Poets Club Newcomer Award is sponsored by the Japan Tanka Poets Club, Japan's oldest and largest tanka poets' fellowship organization. It targets debut tanka collections published in the previous year by authors aged 60 or younger, and was established to honor outstanding works.
