Nagai Yoko's sixth tanka collection. Centered on her days with an aging mother, it layers domestic interiors, images of rabbits and Ashura, and childhood memory to render time spent watching over someone close in a distinctive musical voice.

The poems include one that links watching a person near death to cranes crossing the Himalayas, and another that sees a mother in a dusk-lit room as if she came from a distant age. Familiar reality opens into far-reaching images.
