Kanijo is a collection of short stories in which ordinary life suddenly slips into unsettling, uncanny scenes. In the title story, a woman gripped by fantasies of prolific childbirth gathers animals in imitation of Noah's Ark and turns herself toward giving birth.

An unsettling collection of short stories that steps from the everyday into the extraordinary without explanation.
