Description

Established in 1993 to commemorate the third anniversary of the launch of Nagarami Shobo's comprehensive tanka magazine 'Tanka Ōrai'. Targets outstanding tanka collections published during the previous year—from the second collection onward—that demonstrated a new direction. Concluded after the 10th edition (2002), succeeded by the Maekawa Samiwo Award.
