Description
The Ohira Masayoshi Memorial Award is presented by the Ohira Masayoshi Memorial Foundation (公益財団法人大平正芳記念財団), established in 1985. Named after former Prime Minister Masayoshi Ohira, the award recognizes outstanding scholarly works each year that contribute to the development of the Asia-Pacific solidarity concept he championed, spanning politics, economics, culture, and science and technology. The 42nd award was announced in February 2026. The foundation also administers Asia-Pacific academic research grants and collaborates with the Beijing Center for Japanese Studies.
