A pair of linked plays by Ken Furukawa about the postwar years and late life of poet Mokichi Saito. Shiraki Yama follows Saito's guilt over his part in wartime culture and his waning creativity; Tsukikage portrays aging and death within his family life.

The plays bring a historical figure to life through memories of war, artistic conflict, and exchanges within the family. In the second play, the humor and pathos of a domestic drama sustain the time of his final years.
