Description

Aiming to create a public newcomer literary award suited to the digital age, this award was established by Kodansha in 2012 within their submission site 'Project Amaterasu'. Key features include: no editorial involvement in the first round, with selection entirely by site readers; and primary selection based only on an 8,000-character excerpt. For the second edition, it was retitled 'Walpurgis Prize Light', mainly soliciting light novel works, with some changes to the selection process.
