いまはもうない、穏やかな風景
昭和初期の農村を舞台に、小学生たちの目から見た、日々の暮らし。 決して華やかではなく、決して、全てが美しいものでもない。 子供ながらに働きに出るもの、農地改革で土地を失った祖母から衝撃的な提案をされる者、悪知恵の働く子もいるし、無鉄砲な子もいる。 でも、そのどれもが、キラキラと輝いて見えるのは、生き生きとした彼らの表情が目に浮かぶからだろう。 町の食堂で働く姉に会いに行く妹の話が、10年以上たった今でも、まだ忘れられない。 とても印象的な作品である。
