Miyata, a 30-year-old who quit his job in a state of mental and physical exhaustion, hears from his only friend Hamano that factory contract work is a position where you have little contact with people and are not even considered human. 置いていかれた
代わり映えしないシチュエーショがずっと続いたあと、最後に相方はいきなり立派なことを言い出し、主人公もしっかりと青臭く人生に悩む。それをしないから良かったはずなのに、なんだよーって置いてきぼりにされた感じです。 降りる人、という思想の深まりもなく、申し訳程度にニーチェとか引っ張り出して、ここもまったく物足りない。 班長のキャラ造形はすごく良かったです。

今、エア・カナダでトロント行きの便に乗り、乱気流に巻き込まれながら『降りる人』の「春」だけ読んだ。春しか読んでないのにもうレビューを書きたくなった。続きは後で書くから許して欲しい。 以前、プロレタリア文学なるものがあったという。それになぞらえて言えばこの小説はネオリベラル・エスノグラフィだと思う。世界の末端から1%の人口がアクセスする国際金融経済が、それ以外の全てを断片化して暗い不安を閉じ込める工場と、そこに運ばれてくる人を輸送するバスと、工場化されたアパートとの、蠢くライフラインのなかで、断片化された力と、ディスタンクシォンと、感情だけが明滅している。そんな場面を確かに捉えている。 けれども作者はプロレタリアの蜂起を語らない。その網目を生きる吉本のような吸血産業もあるが、そういう選択でもない。けれども彼は芸人のような手つきで、この世界を生きている。 面白い、そして、見事だ。僕らは彼とこの時代を生きるのかー。 （続き） 夏、秋、冬、春隣と、続きを書こうと思っていたが、解説なんて物語の先取りは、興醒めさせたくないのでやめておこう。 著者の経験を言葉にする際の硬度が異様に確かなことに撃たれたが、最後の選評全ても読んでおおむね全ての評が異口同音に書いていた。確かに彼の言葉には操作性が感じられないほどに確かさがあり、それが読者を引き込んでくる。 が、帯に書いてあった尾崎世界観と担当編集者の言葉は帯だけだったとは。そこまで含めてやられたなぁ。
