歌集 鳥の声
Makoto Nakane's sixth tanka collection brings together 489 poems written over the five years from 2019 through the end of 2023. Through scenes of birds in flight and song, it traces Ibaraki's natural world, everyday life, and a quiet prayer for human endeavor.

Tori no Koe (Voices of Birds) is a tanka collection published by the Kadokawa Culture Promotion Foundation in May 2024. It received the tanka division prize at the 40th Shiika Bungakukan Prize. Returning to the voices and movements of birds, the collection evokes time spent in Ibaraki, a land bordered by sea, rivers, and lakes, and reflects on those close to the poet.
