Winner of the 38th Shosetsu Subaru Newcomer Award. Fourth-grader Yoshizawa Yuchi has been revered by followers of the religious organization Ogido Sorukai as the Descent Child, the reincarnation of its founding father. Strictly controlled by her mother, a sect official, in what she can eat and who she can touch, Yuchi has begun to feel resistance against the devotion of the faithful and the daily rituals imposed upon her. Then transfer student Watarai Kumi appears, a girl who has changed schools many times due to family circumstances. One day, a chance encounter in the school bathroom brings them together, and the two girls gradually grow closer. A sisterhood novel about two girls navigating lives constrained by adults, finding hope in each other.

A debut novel depicting the encounter between Yoshizawa Yuchi, a fourth-grader who lives as the Descent Child of a religious organization, and Watarai Kumi, who has transferred schools repeatedly due to her father job relocations. Author Hiraishi Sanagi was born in Kyoto Prefecture in 1997 and lives in Osaka, having studied at the Osaka Literary School evening program. The novel is labeled a sisterhood novel on its cover band, characterized by a writing style depicting deep solidarity between women. Cover illustration by Nakajima Kano.

舞台設定が斬新。
テーマが斬新でありながら、その中で書かれる友情が普遍的なものなので、エンターテイメントとしてバランスが良い作品になってるという印象。 電子書籍でも良いが、紙で読む方が行き戻りしやすいのでお勧めです。

大人はどこへでも行けるようで、どこにも行けない。
面白かった。大人が願っても二度と戻れない場所に今まさにいる2人の物語。誰もが一度は感じたことのある「大人になって失くしてしまったけど、かつては自分にもあった」という名前もついていない感覚に久しぶりに触れた気がする。読後感も素晴らしい。

あまり詳しく感想書いちゃうとネタバレになんだけど、ちょっとこれは凄かったわ、、 グサクザ、ウルウル、イケイケ！

圧巻。
さすがスバル新人賞…というか、とにかく最高でした。終わりが近づくと、ページを捲るのが惜しくなり、しかし手が止まりませんでした。 最近読んだ中でも群を抜いて、心に響いた作品でした。
