裁判員制度の意義とは
沖縄返還前にはアメリカにならって陪審員制度があった しかしその実態は非常に不平等なモノであった、という話 DQN米兵にけんかをふっかけられ米兵は返り討ちになり死亡 けんかをふっかけられた沖縄の青年らが傷害致死で捕まってしまう その陪審員として招集された人物の視点で進む話である 陪審員もアメリカ人が大半で沖縄人が少なくて不利に進んでいく 主人公はPXとかに宝石を卸す会社の幹部で裁判と同時に会社にも危機か迫る なんとその業績を嫉妬した民政府に無根拠な追徴課税をふっかけられ 会社は存続の危機に陥り沖縄から追い出されそうになってしまうのである 欺瞞と不条理に満ちたアメリカ占領下の情勢が興味深い一冊である

法律的な用語もよく勉強できており、読みやすかった。なぜこれが実名に関するプライバシーの侵害になるのか、小説の中身に入っているわが身からでは理解ができなかった。
