Winner of the 29th Japan Mystery Literature Award for New Writers. Author Rin Hattori was born in 1969 in Nagasaki Prefecture, holds a doctorate from Osaka University, and works as a care worker in Toyonaka City. Hattori began writing fiction in their forties, debuting with this novel. Set in Osaka, this hardboiled story follows a struggling drummer who, after helping a deaf boy, finds himself pitted against antisocial forces. Weaving the theme of 'the individual confronting society' with the real issue of wetland development in Osaka Prefecture, the novel has been hailed as a fresh voice in entertainment mystery fiction.

ミステリー？
ミステリーといえばミステリー とにかく読みやすいし大阪の解像度が高くて 自分たちが普段喋っているような関西弁で親しみが湧いた 聾のハンデにLGBTや反社などいろんな要素が出てくるが、軽快なストーリーでテンポもいい

情報が多いがテンポ感が良くあっという間に読める
作者と私は同年代のようですが、古い漫画やゲームのネタがふんだんにあって結構笑えましたが、一方で作中でスマホやSNSが駆使されていて、現代のミステリーになっていると思いました。いや、ミステリーより冒険小説の方が近いかも。いろんな知識が盛り込まれているんですが、説明がうまくて、頭がいい人が書いたんやろなと思いました。とても面白かったです。

一気読み
オビの文句「コワイ奴らにロックオンされた売れないドラマーと少年、大阪を走る逃げる」を見て、『走らなあかん夜明けまで』+『初秋』的な話かと思ったら、全然違って、普通に巻き込まれ型のハードボイルドです。しかし、リーダビリティが半端ない。ストーリー展開が巧みでテンポがいい。さらに出てくるキャラクター全員が魅力的、会話も上手く、ユーモアも抜群。おまけに、知らないうちに生物学の知識が得られる（？）。タイトルとは真逆のウェットではなくカラッとした雰囲気で読ませる受賞作です。
