Trivia
- Real name was Fukuda Mikio.
- Father was Army Lieutenant General Fukuda Hikosuke; mother was haiku poet Fukuda Museijo (associated with Hototogisu).
- After climbing Yatsugatake in 1939 he traveled many mountains and became known as a leading mountain haiku poet.
- His second son died in a mountaineering accident in Okukurobe; Fukuda's 30-poem cycle 'Autumn Wind Elegy' about the tragedy helped earn him the Jakko Prize.
- Awarded the Order of the Sacred Treasure, Fourth Class, in 1984.
