Description
The Dakotsu Prize is an award for haiku established in honor of haiku poet Iida Dakotsu. It is given to the most outstanding haiku collection published from January to December of the previous year and is regarded as the most authoritative award in the haiku world. It is sponsored by the Kadokawa Culture Promotion Foundation, with the first award in 1967. Winners receive a certificate, a commemorative item, and a prize of 1 million yen, and the award ceremony is held every June.
