Real Escape Game

2007 Live event / Entertainment

A participatory puzzle event in which participants solve mysteries within a time limit to 'escape' a venue. Conceived by Takao Kato in Kyoto and expanded nationwide and internationally by SCRAP.

Legacy

Takao Kato established and popularized the 'Real Escape Game' genre of participatory entertainment and, through SCRAP, contributed to event production and regional cultural activation. In 2024 he received the 74th Geijutsu Sensho Newcomer Award (Media Arts Division), gaining recognition in the media arts field.
