Description
As part of the Art Encouragement Awards hosted by the Agency for Cultural Affairs, this rookie award recognizes artists who have opened new horizons in each field through their achievements. It targets 11 fields: theater, film, music, dance, literature, fine arts, broadcasting, popular entertainment, arts promotion, criticism, etc., and media arts. Winners are announced in mid-March every year, and an award ceremony is held at a hotel in central Tokyo. A certificate and prize money are presented.
